GENERAL INFORMATION

The Southern Umpires Camp is designed for the amateur experienced or beginning umpire, who is not necessarily looking for a career in professional or collegiate baseball. However, the camp is proud of its outstanding student credentials in this area with over 750 graduates entering into major college baseball. In addition, over 100 graduates have earned jobs in Professional Baseball after attending professional umpire schools. Including AAA / MLB umpires Vic Carapazza and Michael Estabrook.

Sold out 36 consecutive years! We have students from across the United States; we will accept the first 40 student applications. 

CAMP LOCATION

All classroom sessions will be held at the Radisson Country Inn and Suites.

CAMP HIGHLIGHTS

• Coordinator of Umpires for the College Conference of the South (CCOS), Atlantic 10, Peach Belt, USA South and Southern Collegiate will be adding umpires to his staff.
• Plate work taught individually to each student in cage work.
• Field mechanics taught with 2 and 3 man crews.
• Rules and interpretations taught in classroom skill sessions (Federation, NCAA and Professional)
• Each student will umpire situations involving high school and college players in live games. Two man video tape critiques now offered.
• Only the first 40 students will be accepted in order to provide plenty of field time and instruction to each student (experienced or beginning umpire).

  7:00 pm - 9:00 pm Classroom Session
• Friday, 2/2
  9:00 am - 9:00 pm: Class and Field
• Saturday, 2/3
  9:00 am - 9:00 pm: Class and Field
• Sunday, 2/4
  9:00 am - 4:00 pm: Class and Field

TUITION (TAX DEDUCTIBLE)

The out-of-town tuition includes your room and tax for 3 nights.  Out of town students will be housed in the newly renovated Radisson Country Inn and Suites, located at 1852 Rockbridge Road in Stone Mountain, GA. Each student staying at the hotel will have access to the exercise facilities and indoor swimming pool, along with a free continental breakfast each morning. There are numerous restaurants and stores nearby within walking distance. Detailed hotel information will be listed in your email acceptance letter. The camp will make reservations for all out-of-town students.  All classroom sessions will be held in the Hotel meeting room or common area.

DEPOSIT

A $345.00 deposit (non-refundable) must accompany the application for local students. 

A $445.00 deposit (non-refundable) must accompany the application for out-of-town students choosing to stay at the Radisson Country Inn and Suites. The Southern Umpires Camp will make reservations for you!

BALANCE DUE

The balance of $50.00 (local) or $100.00 (out of town) is due at the February 10th registration.  Upon acceptance to the camp you will receive a confirmation letter with all the details concerning the camp.

HOUSING
